Last week was Thanksgiving break and it gave my a chance to catch up in some of my other non-major related classes. Finals week is coming up next week and our next class will be the screening of the progress of our film. We should have all of our layout done for the screening on Friday. I have been working on testing our character rig along with creating the cloth simulations for Basil and the old lady.
The image above was an in-progress version of the dress that I was making for Basil. I only have the right sleeve on Basil and I didn't have any fringe around her neck or apron yet.
The image above was a small bug in Marvelous Designer that I found really funny with all of the crazy geometry shooting in different directions.
All of the below videos are all versions of the simulation of the dress. The first iteration was too light and it flicked around too much. The second iteration was better, but it tended to stick to the ground when our character fell to the ground which wasn't very natural. The third iteration accidentally had the weight for the belt on too strong so it was dragging down the entire dress during the animation. The last one is pretty good, but we want to add changes to the dress where it moves more freely and doesn't clump as much.
Our production pass and the last day of the semester will be on Friday, and we are cramming to finish our layout for the entire film. I am excited to show our classmates the progress we have made.
